It did take a lot of research before I landed of this property especially when they don’t have an official website of their own. Still, the reviews and pics I saw on Trip.com convinced me enough and off I go

Address – Building 5&6, No.3 Tianzhu Middle Street, Shunyi District, Beijing, China.

Contact – Tel: +86 10-64573688 but no email contact.

Location – 9mins drive (or 5km) away from the Beijing Capital International Airport but there is nothing really much around so this spot should really only be considered for transient purposes.

Price – SGD$68 booked via Trip.com for an Elegant Selected Room (room only) which includes late night snack buffet, complimentary drink, and happy hour afternoon tea (all of which I wouldn’t be able to make use of but it was the cheapest rate).

Airport Shuttle / Getting There – The hotel advertises free pick up and drop off from Beijing Capital Airport and advanced bookings are not required. What this means is that the shuttle is available:

  • 6:00pm-10:00am the next day: every half hour.
  • 10:00am-6:00pm: every on the hour only.

The official instruction to all guests is to call a local number (+86 187-0110-2736 for the half hourly / +86 159-0145-8962 for the hourly) to request for the shuttle once you have picked up your luggage. But this was a problem to me as my roaming call simply would not go through. Being connected on Wechat saved me (I made a contact me request through Trip.com’s customer service to be connected this way) as I was able to get hold of someone and he put in the shuttle request for me.

Where I was at T3, the pick up location is the underground parking lot B13 channel. I had issues finding the exact spot but after some asking around, I was asked to look for signage pointing “Parking” or the “E-hailing (Area H)” and once there after a quick sheltered walk, I came to an underground carpark with clearly marked lanes – look for lane B13 and the bus arrived shortly.

The bus comes with the hotel name on the exterior for easy recognition – below is a pic of the car the next morning.

Another thing to note is that there are 2-3 Quiguo hotels located in the vicinity so the driver will ask which one you are going to and drop off pax accordingly. But not a big issue as they are all located close to each other anyway.

From the point my flight landed at 23:00 and without much delays, I arrived at the hotel lobby at 00:10 and felt very relieved at the modern looking lobby.

Check In – Easy and quite fuss-free since I already paid for the room via Trip.com – I was given my key in less than 10mins and off I go. I was also asked if I needed any drop off service and a timing was booked – 6:30am shuttle for my 9:00am domestic flight.

Room – My room (23SqM) was thankfully similar to the pics I reviewed – all modern and I did like the splash of green colors that helped to liven up the otherwise dull room. The open wardrobe and sink area are to the left of the door as you step in, with the separate toilet and shower to the right. All worked fine for a 6-hour stay but do bear in mind that disposable amenities eg toothbrushes etc are no longer actively provided in Beijing hotels (since May 2020) and you have to ask for those if you need.

The main bedroom area was a compact space of a bed accompanied by 2 smallish bedside tables including a house phone.

Beside the bed is a sitting area alongside a simple mini bar. Obviously no coffee machine can be expected but there is a kettle for boiling hot water if you need be (just bring your own sachets!).

The only issue I had with the room is the remanent of what smelled like stale smoke which is not uncommon with properties in China. I found an air purifier mounted on the wall but couldn’t get it to switch on for some reason. I eventually resorted to spritzing the air with some freshener and made do since it was a short stay.

Check Out – It was basically just dropping off the key card and a short wait at the lobby before the shuttle arrived to drop us off at the airport.

Service – Not a long enough stay but functional was all I needed for this stay really.

In Summary,

Not a bad option for an overnighter in Beijing Airport for an early flight out or a late flight in for the price and since I’ve since figured out how the shuttle service works, it will be a viable option if I really need a spot for some rest next time.
