Another of my Sentosa escapade to experience another Far East Hospitality property, thanks to a friend’s generous donation of his Amex Platinum voucher. Excited to find out what does a hotel which caters to only 16yo and above offer heh.
I had such a fantastic stay in this property in Nov 2021 and had been stalking good rates to use my return voucher worth $100. Since I had all those bells and whistles during my last stay, I figured trying out a basic stay in a basic room type will be interesting enough.
I actually never thought I’d want to try this as it was not a cheap property but especially with the impending death of WFHotel possibilities, aiya why not. And there is always something different about staycay-ing in a colonial-esque vibe, no?
There is always a reason to adopt a new staycation isn’t it?
It didn’t take long for me to decide to book this despite having my weekly staycay slots full til Dec at the point of writing this. The reshuffling of some plans were done in mock frustration but hey anything to try out a new property with a good deal.
I’ve actually always been kind of curious about this property. I’m not usually a boutique hotel person but there is something about this hotel that I find attractive enough to consider a staycation, but only if the price is right as there is no loyalty programme to benefit from. Also, my fantabulous Clan Hotel experience earlier this year injected some level of confidence about the Far East Hospitality’s management of their properties.
I had missed out on Trip.com’s 1-4-1 sale previously and made a mental note to make my booking if I do see it again. And it did!
This property was rebranded and relaunched in 2018 from it’s Orchard Parade Hotel identity and the refreshed offerings received rather nice reviews, especially the club lounge. I did remember the old rooms were abit sad. With the low (and sometimes insane) prices on OTAs, I made an impulse booking for the following week and here we go!
Who knew I was going on a staycation spree after all?
I blame my Ritzy Staycay for kicking me off into this money-burning spiral. A monthly almost weekly staycation plan doesn’t seem that indulgent in the world of COVID-19, right?
So I’ve not quite got it why Far East Hospitality has not started its own loyalty programme, particularly so when it’s presence in Singapore has sprouted with the opening of The Outpost Hotel, The Barracks Hotel, and Village Hotel. I get it that this may not be their main business but its also not difficult to get a white label software to kick start something.
