[Hotel Review] The Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong

Grabbed from official site

This trip came up but of course due to the Cathy Pacific giveaway which happened earlier this year, and I decided to try this RC for its amazing views (and eye watering prices). This stay comes after a fantastic stay at RC Tokyo just last month and I was super excited to be able to make a comparison between these two similarly highly-raved about properties.

[Hotel Review] The Ritz Carlton, Tokyo

Ah the because-last-night splurge of my trip!

After so many days of running around for work and clocking too many steps for leisure, I figured I deserved a splurge for my last night in Tokyo. To be honest, it was between this and EDITION but I picked this in the end because CLUB LOUNGE.

[Hotel Review] Batam Marriott Habour Bay

It has taken me this long to try this property.

While I had my eyes on this spot pre-COVID, prices were hovering around SGD300+ which was too expensive for Batam. So COVID came and went (or still around) and the idea for a short family trip came up, I decided to spring for this as the prices had gone down and I would be able to utilize my Suite Night Awards (SNA) which otherwise would have expired end 2023.

[Lounge Review] Starlux-ury: GALATIC Lounge, Taoyuan Airport, Taiwan

Grabbed from official site

I was super excited to check out this flagship lounge and thanks for APEC card, I was able to somewhat breeze through the chaos that Taoyuan Airport is at 530am.

[Trip Report] Starlux-ury

Grabbed from official site

Starlux (website) – the newish Taiwanese airline receiving rave reviews even in coach.

And honestly, its looks really good on pics. And really, the lightbulb moment came when then I found what I consider a decent enough pricing which will allow me to try Economy Class from Singapore, and their A350 Business Class back from Taipei which means experiencing the GALATIC (yes, it’s meant to be in caps) Lounge at Taoyuan Airport. YAY.

This is shaping up to be a year of random trips after all.

[Hotel Review] The Ritz Carlton, Jakarta, Pacific Place

Grabbed from official site

This trip happened due to my friend’s mileage run which was the perfect excuse to have another holiday. Yay.

Knowing our sole intention is to chill and not really wanting to mess with the infamous Jakarta traffic, we then decided that this spot is the best option we have to allow us to simply chillax. After all, it’s not everyday you come across a Ritz where all guests get club access – time for us to find out if this is a good thing!

[Hotel Review] Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection

Ah, a hotel in the clouds.

Ho Chi Minh was one of those cancelled-because-of-COVID plans and I have always remembered I need to check this city off my list. With soaring airfares all around, a $250ish return ticket on Singapore Airlines caught my eye and off I went for 4nights. This property also came highly recommended from a trusted friend and it was just in time to clock double elite nights so win win!

[Hotel Review] Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador

Again, over-researching led me to this property for its offering of location, an Executive Lounge, and decently new rooms. After a somewhat underwhelming Eurostar experience, I couldn’t wait to settle in soonest to check out the city as I only had 2 full days in the city..

[Hotel Review] St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London

Picked to move from Park Lane to this for a one-nighter because the property is so historic and honestly looks so impressive – just look at that architecture! But alas, it turned out to be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
