Had the chance to stay here for 4 nights on work and was quite excited to actually experience this Wing as the only other Shangri-La Singapore was at Valley Wing during COVID times (I miss those COVID prices!).
Summarizing my thoughts about Qantas in general in this post as I was pretty sick ex-SIN so couldn’t review anything else.
So the background was that I had expiring Qantas points to use which otherwise cannot be used for anything else. I only deliberated a little bit as the only direct flight was of crappy timing for departing SIN (landing after midnight) but I decided I could deal with it in the end. Thank goodness the return flight timing was a lot more reasonable.
[Some pics used here are a combi if what I took for my depart from SIN before I fell sick]
Based on my research, this seems to be the only lounge that is available at Terminal 3 for international departures so 3hrs prior to check in here we go!
This Ritz Carlton has been on my list for a while and I was super happy that my 85k redemption works for this property (base room cost 65k and the next tier was over 100k so there was no middle tier). Excited to experience an immediate comparison after 2 nights in Westin too.
After deliberating over my choice for a quick overnight rest after my flight lands just past midnight, I decided that this property will offer the most comfort and value since I had expiring D$ to use and with that in consideration, this property was the same price as an Ibis near the airport. The icing on the cake was the fact that the property had recently completed a refurbishment of all their rooms so yays to new room!

After the disappointing BA Lounge, I had much higher hopes for this spot especially after seeing glowing reviews from fellow travelers. And thank goodness it lived up to what I had in mind!

Checking in for my QF flight 4hrs at Changi Airport was almost smooth except for the fact that the Business Counters were rather confused when I asked to confirm that One World Sapphire can use this line. Apparently, my JAL Sapphire was not tagged to my ticket – despite calling the QF customer service to add it manually and then seeing it added to my ticket via the mange booking section.
