Checking in for my QF flight 4hrs at Changi Airport was almost smooth except for the fact that the Business Counters were rather confused when I asked to confirm that One World Sapphire can use this line. Apparently, my JAL Sapphire was not tagged to my ticket – despite calling the QF customer service to add it manually and then seeing it added to my ticket via the mange booking section.
[By the way, some reviews in my sequence are striked out above as I didn’t have time to visit the CX lounge and then I fell sick on QF72 (what a way to start my trip)]
Anyhows, nothing too complicated and I was on my way to lounge hop soon after. I decided to visit this lounge first before settling into the Qantas Lounge to wait out my flight and it ended up to be a smart choice.
- Location: Airside, Terminal 1, Level 3, After Security.
- Operating Hours: 16:00 – 23:00 daily.
- Access: OneWorld Business Class, First Class + One World Sapphire and Emerald flying on Y. Because my OWS status was not tagged to my ticket, I had to present my physical JAL Sapphire card for verification.
Seating
The BA lounge layout is a long corridor of seating options but the furnishings looked aged and did not have a ‘nice lounge’ vibe to me at least. It is still worth mentioning that at 4pm, the space was pretty much empty save for a handful of passengers which allowed me to get some decent shots of the space.
There is a business area right at the end of the corridor, alongside a TV viewing area which seemed like a good spot for stoning if need be.
Food & Beverage
A rather pedestrian-looking buffet spread is laid out so didn’t try any, but I appreciated that each section had a menu card which I thought was much neater than individual place cards.
Drinks see a selection of wines and spirits, all self-served.
Facilities
Hoppd by the toilets for some pics – pretty clean I must say!
Service
Other than the access point, I had no other interaction experience to sufficiently review unfortunately.
In Summary,
This is definitely not a lounge I’d come early for as everything about it feels average. Though definitely a good spot to wait out a BA flight if need be.
Onwards to a more exciting lounge at Changi!
