My virgin EVA experience starting right on homeground!
This is the more exciting part of this in terms of airport lounges as EVA Air has a total of 4 lounges in their homeground airport so the aim is to check out as many as my business class (and time) ticket will allow.
EVA offers a map of their Location for all the lounges in the airport:

For my 0925 flight, I was there bright and early in anticipation of the discoveries I wanted to make. And I have to say, Star Alliance Gold or any Business Class combined with the APEC card was a wonder combi at Taoyuan Airport as the place is simply bustling at all given times.
Anyways, as all the lounges were clustered in different corners of the same floor, I decided to start with hopping by the one furthest out from The Infinity before I picked my spot.
The Club (website)- For BR Infinity MileageLands – Silver card members booking and travelling on EVA AIR or UNI AIR flights + Star Alliance – Gold card members travelling on Star Alliance flights.
- Operating Hours: 05:30-10:00 & 16:00-21:30
- Location: After security checkpoint and immigration, take the escalator on the right to level 4. The CLUB lounge is on the right side.
This turned out to be the saddest of the lounges – and I should have known when the staff who scanned my boarding pass asked if I was sure I wanted to be here. Hilarious.
Also the smallest of the lot, the space is actually not too bad as it offers high ceilings and views of the airport happenings, with mostly cushy sofa seats all laid out in a L-shaped design. Seemed to be the quietest of the lot though so this would actually suit you if you don’t particularly enjoy the buzz of constant stream of passenger traffic.
Food & Beverage is laid out in a small buffet format in a corner and whilst selection is small, it would be still sufficient to make a meal out of it. Simple local breakfast fares + a basic selection of alcohol here.
The Star is co-located with The Infinity in one main entrance on the other end of the floor – staff would scan your boarding pass and direct you accordingly – The Star is to the left and The Infinity to the right.
The Star (website) – for BR Infinity MileageLands – Gold card and Star Alliance – Gold card members travelling on Star Alliance flights.
- Operating Hours: 04:30-23:30
- Location: After security checkpoint and immigration, take the escalator on the left or right to level 4.
This lounge is much bigger than The Club but also busier – very very busy in fact. The seating is separated into 3 main sections: one less lit section with mostly solo arm chairs, one brighter section made possible by a fake sky print on the ceiling, and then a cluster of high tables by the window.
Food & Beverage are laid out in a dedicated corner much bigger versus The Club, with a slightly bigger selection + staff stationed at the buffet for assistance if need be. The availability of steam dim sum seemed to be crowd favorite.
Then I finally scooted off to my rest spot for the trip…
The Infinity (website) – for BR Royal Laurel / Premium Laurel / Business Class and Star Alliance First/Business Class travelers.
- Operating Hours: 04:30-23:30
- Location: After security checkpoint and immigration, take the escalator on the left or right to level 4.
The Infinity is a super busy space you can imagine even though the admittance list is smaller – but the space is thankfully made cheerier with the choice of bright green (EVA green?) and yellow tones starting right as you walk in, all the way to the various seating sections made up of mostly sofa seats for solo or couples. But the crazy crowd made it really hard to take proper pictures without people staring at you possibly wondering about their privacy you are intruding into so there are already my best attempts!
In fact, the space is so busy with traffic that staff are on hand to guide new arrivals to available seats and soiled cutleries are cleared very quickly which is always a good thing. They also tried to cut out the space to give a better sense of privacy by putting in place a rather nice centerpiece alongside a LED wall which seems to be a crowd favorite in terms of seats.
Food and Beverage here seems similar to the one at The Star but in a different layout. The dishes were all quite tasty and I liked very much that they feature local flavours which were right up my alley.
The lavatories were surprisingly small though clean, with only 4 toilets and 2 sinks which meant queues are inevitable close to boarding times so factor some time for this if need be.
And of course there is The Garden (website), is only accessible to BR Infinity MileageLands – Diamond card members travelling on EVA AIR、UNI AIR or Star Alliance flights so no go for now. I did take a shot of it from outside though.
As Star Alliance Gold, there is also the Oriental Club Lounge (website) but with the above, I didn’t have more time left. And since its a Priority Pass lounge, I can always access it next time if I fly Y.
Onwards to the last part of my trip on EVA!
