It actually wasn’t easy to decide on this spot for my 11hr layover as I really wanted to try more atas Bonvoy properties but I eventually came to my senses and decided its not worth since I wasn’t even going to spend that much time in the room anyway.
Address – Avenida Diagonal 161-163, Barcelona, Spain, 08018. Website.
Contact – Tel: +34 934-868800. Email: reservation@fourpointsbarcelona.com.
Location – The property is in the 22@District and is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and museums. As a home during my layover, its perfectly suitable and no complaints!

Price – EUR89++ = EUR104.17 for a Classic Guest Room, King boked under the “Bonvoy Escapes Member Sale” which was actually the Cyber Sale offering 25% for rooms booked via their app. I thought this was not bad a deal even though its not a day rate (no such rate so I had to book the night prior and this would be my ‘next morning’).
Pre-arrival – I received a generic pre-arrival email about 4 days out.
Getting There – I booked a private transfer via Pelago for SGD78 which is mad expensive I know but I didn’t want to toy with risks when my day in the city was already that short. The driver reached out via whatsapp and I breezed through immigration and hopped on the 30-min ride to the property.
Check In – The lobby was pretty empty when I reached close to 8am and I quickly checked in – the staff seemed slightly confused at first as I had booked the night prior but that was quickly sorted out. The lobby was quite a plesant cheery wait so okay la.
The lift lobby and corridors were a different matter….
Room – I had been upgraded to a Preferred, Guest Room, King City View, High Floor (23SqM) and to be honest based on my research I wasn’t expecting (and needing) much. But I got a nice surprise when I opened my door and saw this.
I suddenly regretting that I had so little time to spend in this room but ah wells. Anyway, the bed was actually really comfy – I even made time to nap like 45mins!
The other side of the bed is a single seater, the TV, and the mini bar on table top where some welcome amenities were laid out – wasn’t expecting that but thanks!
The open concept wardrobe adjacent to the bed was quite a unique design I thought – I much prefer easier access to my stuff than fight with creaking doors or sliding mechanisms in a space like this.
The bathroom is quite decently spaced with alot of countertop space and generous shower s[pace. Toiletries here are ACTIV-branded – don’t recall if they were good or not but any shower is a good shower after a 14hr long haul.
Breakfast – served at Gastro Corner at the lobby level from 7am-10am, the space was bustling at 8am but finding a seat for 1pax was not hard. No ambience to speak – more function than form here.
The spread was a decent combi of hot and cold options, plenty of cheese and cold cuts of course. Decent enough coffee to start my time zone!
Facilities – the Fitness Centre is a cosy spot located on level (I think?) and is a mezzaine set up with a small amount of machines, plenty of sunlight, and a really random outdoor area.
Other stuff – I also had a ‘light lunch’ at Gastro Bar and those squid rings were delicious, especially as beer food.
Service – Very low touch for the short stay so nothing material to talk about.
Check Out – Painless and fuss free since my room was already pre-paid.
In Summary,
I think I made the right choice as the first hotel of my trip and if it’s the same room type, I wouldn’t mind choosing this for an actual stay next time!
