[Lounge Review] Cathay Pacific Lounge, Shanghai Pudong International Airport

Grabbed from official site

Cathay Crusade 2025

This was my third CX lounge for this trip and excited to check it off – same same but different? I didn’t know it at that time but this became a god send when I had to spend 5hours waiting out my flight which was eventually cancelled (more on my experience in a separate post).

  • Location: Terminal 2 near gate D69
  • Opening hours: 06:00-19:00

The lounge is actually right after customs and immigration, one escalator up, and the CX branding will be hard to miss.

Seats – the layout and design of the space follows the CX theme of long corridors, starting with a section of window seats and couches. Pretty empty as I arrived about 2.5hrs prior to flight out.

This then leads into a communal hall of sorts

This area is where an international spread lays – with expected offerings from an airport lounge.

Drinks are in this section – a decent selection of non-alcoholic drinks, spirits, wines and of course bubbles (Laurent Perrier).

Further inwards you’ll find the Noodle Bar with its booth seats

And finally, another section of seats overlooking the terminal which was quite nice but the furthest away from food if one doesn’t mind.

I was able to make myself some really nice plates from entire time I was there.

Facilities – the washrooms were very clean but I forgot to take any pics.

Service – it was fine if talking about normal operations of a lounge itself. But my experience would soon turn into a nightmare when my flight out was delayed twice with minimum explanations before eventually cancelled.

In Summary,

Still a great spot to wait out a flight on other normal days I think!

[A separate post about my CX flight cancellation experience to come after the compensation from CX has been settled. Stay tuned!]
