I was honestly quite glad to take this flight as it meant the completion of my status run (kind of) but also because I was really glad to be heading home due to the hectic schedule. Boarding was on time and my boarding gate for group 2 was soon paged for.
Seat – My seat was 7H this time, a bulkhead window seat in the second cabin, figured it’ll be fun to try a different seat versus when I departed. But most importantly, this was the only seat available with no neighbour at the point of seat selection.
I won’t repeat the seat functions from my previous review but otherwise, this bulkhead design offers so much space in front its quite funny. Privacy does not feel as good at this seat but way better than a bulkhead middle section seat for sure.
With this design, the in-flight literature and slippers are placed so far away so its not possible to access them if you have your seatbelt on.
The tray table for the bulkhead slides out from the middle console (the photos are in dark mode as I only managed to take pics after they’ve dimmed the cabin lights).
After I’ve settled in my seat, the crew came by to introduce herself and confirmed my choice of meal as well as preferred drinks to go with it. Amenities were similarly offered from a basket but no sweater this flight – I wonder why.
In-flight Entertainment – pretty much the same as my JL078 as it was within the same month of travel so I don’t have anything material to add.
In-flight Meal – the table was set about an hour after takeoff with the same packaged rice snacks and my choice of sake to start.
The menu was as follow (the drinks list were the same from before):
The quality of the food was again exceptional and of course I couldn’t finish it. But had space for more sake of course.
Lavatories – the entire cabin shared 3 lavatories and they were kept very clean throughout the flight, though by that point I was missing SQ’s face mist.
Service – service was as great as JL078 and the crew was similarly all smiley efficiency and actively walked the aisle. Would not mind trying a non-red-eye next time just to compare the different in attentiveness!
I managed to knock out for 1.5hours and before I knew it we were landing in Manila.
In Summary,
A more than decent way to get myself back in positioning to return home – all good!
