[Lounge Review] SilverKris Lounge, Ninoy Aquino International Airport

Trip.com x Japan Airlines Sapphire Fast Track

[But first, a brief review of The Wings Transit Lounge at NAIA T3]

I landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Terminal 1 at 5am local time with almost a 7-hour layover in Manila and hopped over to Terminal 3 via Grab. Initially a little concerned about how to spend my time before the SQ check in counter opens, I was lucky enough to remember checking my DragonPass courtesy of my HSBC T1 card and found The Wings Transit Lounge in T3.

The lounge offers private rooms as well as recliner chairs but these are not included in DragonPass. Also not included are the massages they offer at their sister outlet which was a welcome respite for me to get some restful kneading for 1.5hour for SGD38 – not bad!

DragonPass guests get a “basic” 3-hour stay at the lounge (the staff will assign a couch number to you and indicates a checkout time on the receipt. You may think it’s a weird benefit to have a couch seat to sit on for 3hours but when you compare it to the madness in the public areas outside, this is a win for privacy, peacefulness, and sanity.

The pass also comes with complimentary F&B from their buffet but the spread did not look like something I wanted to partake in.

Anyways, back to the SilverKris Lounge proper…

Access – Singapore Airlines accords access to Krisflyer Elite Gold (Star Alliance Gold) travelling one Star Alliance in any cabin class, alongside the usual Business class pasengers etc.

  • Location – Terminal 3, Departure Level 4
  • Operating Hours – 04:30am – 09:00. 11:00 – 18:00

After the too-long waiting out and finally getting through the crazy security lines (no designated lane for APEC at this terminal, stepping up to the lounge felt like home already!

Seating – this lounge carries the modern Home Away From Home theme and is bathed in modern and bright accents, offering cushy seatings for groups and semi private pods for solos.

Food & Beverages – I was actually quite impressed by the food quality and quality and can’t help but compare it to the home ground SilverKris. Tasty canapes, decent hot food (that tom yam soup is the bomb), varied cold options – I’d take this any time!

Drinks on offer had the usual non-alcoholic variety, canned beers, a simple selection of spirits, 2x white, 2x red, and an excellent sparkling cuvee.

Lavatories – small with 2 toilets but clean which is always a plus.

Service – very attentive with soiled plates cleared efficiently and staff even offering to help bring stuff to your table if need be.

Our boarding was pushed back to the late arrival of the aircraft but with the delay only being 30mins or so, it was soon boarding time.

In Summary,

Happy to go home and even happier that I’ve completed this status run amidst the perceived logistical challenges. YAYYY. ONE WORLD SAPPHIRE WHERE ARE YOU!!??
