[Lounge Review] Star Alliance Lounge – Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Grabbed from official site

TAP Air Portugal Traipse

I was excited about this lounge as I saw good reviews during my research and was looking forward to chilling in a not-crowded airport lounge for once.

Location – Terminal 2, follow airport signage to Airline Lounge 27. The lounge is located in the Schengen Departures area – take the escalators or elevators up to level 2 from the main shopping area, towards D gates. Take the elevators or stairs to level 3. The lounge is located next to the Aspire Lounge.

Operating Hours – 05:30 to 2100 daily.

Access – I had access due to my TAP Executive Class ticket but understand that the lounge sells paid access as well.

Seating – the space was really big and was only 2-table filled when I stepped in. Wah. The design feels more atas than the regular airport lounge with liberal use of copper and gold tones, complimented by the natural lighting through the windows. I liked it alot!

Seats are spread out nicely with various seating options so one should not feel crowded in at any point. There was a good mix of low and regular tables, including a high table of sorts in one corner.

Food & Beverage – I thought the food was very decent – plenty of cold cuts, cheese and vegetables if you prefer a healthy meal before the trip.

There’s also some hot food selection and during my stay, it was the transition between breakfast and lunch so I saw eggs and bacon being swapped out for chicken curry, braised beef, and some other stuff which were all no good so perhaps that’s why I didn’t take pics.

Drinks available were in a separate corner with some snacks: wines, beer on tap, and selected spirits.

Service – Low touch so nothing to complain about.

In Summary,

A great spot to wait out a flight with its peaceful ambience – definitely cone here if you can!
