[Lounge Review] Qatar Airways First & Business Class Arrival Lounge, Hamed International Airport

Okay not the best picture.

But anyways, I didn’t realize that there is the First and Business Class Lounge which expedites immigration process for eligible passengers and then, there’s the actual Arrival Lounge which is located after security. They arent’ super exciting so I will cover both in one post. Limited pictures ahead as some spots are secured areas after all.

For the lounge that takes you through immigration:

  • Location: – Airside lounge: When you land at Hamad International Airport, follow the signs for ‘Baggage Claim’ until you reach the immigration hall. The lounge entrance is to the left of the immigration counters, next to the e-gate section (there is also a Landside lounge: Exit the customs declaration area through the automatic doors into the arrivals hall and turn left. The lounge entrance is next to the Baladna store).
  • Opening hours: 24hours
  • Access: can be accessed by eligible First Class and Business Class passengers who are exiting Hamad International Airport.

When you see the immigration counters, you look to your left towards this sign:

Where you’ll be greeted and checked for eligibility by the counter in the main pic, while you wait in this vast space of……….chairs.

Refreshments here are very perfunctory so here’s the boring pictures:

There is also toilets of course, but if you are not keen, you will be waived off to the immigration e-gates (which did not work and I had to be redirected to the manual counter) before clearing private security which had no lines at all.

Security leads out to the main baggage claim area, to the exit hall, and if you actually have a need for an arrival hall (to wait while your car is not here maybe?), you will need to for signage to “Arrival Lounge” which will be on the left as you step out.

I didn’t get a picture of the main door of this lounge but its a small counter where the bored staff seemed surprised that I want to visit haha. He checked my eligibility before asking me to take the lift one floor up to the space – and again its….alot of chairs and alot space.

And perfunctory refreshments once again…

But the toilets are probably the cleanest if you are heading out from here – worth the pitstop!

After what seemed like 5mins, I hopped out onto the arrival hall to find my hotel shuttle stand to take me to my rest stop to refreshen up for a whirlwind city tour.

In Summary,

my fastest ‘lounge’ visit ever! And looking forward to coming back to finally experience their proper business lounges.
