[Hotel Review] The Kiroro, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I was part of a 7D6N guided tour in Hokkaido and this was the ‘star’ hotel of the trip – and rightfully so! Beautiful hotel grounds both inside and outside :).

The hotel is under SPG’s portfolio (Sheraton I think?) and I was skeptical that the property would be nice based on some pics I saw online but my worries turned out unfounded after all.

ADDRESS128-1 Tokiwa, Yoichi-gun, Akaigawa-mura 046-0593, Hokkaido. Website. Tel: +81 3-4560-2311 .

LOCATION – up some mountain roads and not really near any modern conveniences. But everything you need is located within the resort so nothing to worry about.

HOTEL GROUNDS – they have their own mini-mart and arcades, plus the all important onsen. The property has been very well maintained, and definitely up to Sheraton standards. Huge property to walk around in.

ROOM – Huge room even with 2 super singles and a cough and TV and all. Definitely spacious by Japanese standards. Immaculately clean room and washrooms, and bottled water can be replenished. Super plushy beds too!

BREAKFAST – a little chaotic due to the huge tourist crowds. We were asked to go to a banquet hall instead of the main dining area as it was packed, felt a little disappointed about that, but no big issue.

Will definitely be back if I had a choice 🙂
