[Hotel Review] Novotel Lisbon

Grabbed from official site

Well, this was an unexpected pitstop.

So I happily left the LIS Tejo Lounge, looking forward to begin the part of my journey where I can finally stop hotel hopping for abit. But alas, after delayed boarding and sitting onboard for 3hours, the captain announced that the flight has been cancelled (presuming due to the crazy weather at AMS?).

*Cues a flurry of Oh Nos and confusion/exclamation/angry remarks.

In essence, we were asked to deplane, huddle around to wait for staff who came later after the entire plane has disembarked, told to go to another gate to be assisted, then given F&B vouchers to use at the airport while receiving email notifications for being rebooked to next day, same flight. Haiz.

Anyways….

TAP Air Portugal Traipse

Address – Avenida José Malhoa 1 1A, 1099-051 LISBOA, Portugal . Website.

Contact – +351 21 724 4800. Email: H0784@accor.com.

Location – I needed to find a location not too far from the airport to escape to for the night and didnt want to risk messing up my already booked Bonvoy at Amsterdam so this was the next natural choice since I had Accor Platinum. Pics on the website looked very decent and after making a booking, off I went in an uber to hole up for the night with emergency stash of stuff bought at the LIS pharmacy since I didn’t have access to my checked bags.

Price – EUR84.10 booked for a Superior Single Room with 1 Queen sized bed (room-only) which I thought was not too bad given the circumstances.

Getting There – An Uber from LIS cost me EUR10 which was reasonable given the 15mins ride.

Checking In – I arrived at the lobby 15mins after making my booking and the front desk quickly processed my booking and informed that breakfast is not included as Accor Plats only get free breakfast in APAC properties. I had forgotten about this but not that it mattered for this stay as I had to leave early the next morning anyway. I did receive though a welcome drink at the restaurant – via an e-voucher redeemable in the app. Also informed that I had been upgraded to an Executive Room for my status.

Room – The Executive Room, 1 Queen Bed (27SqM) actually seemed more spacious than it is which I was happy with. The space looked exactly like the pics starting with the colorful entrance and open concept wardrobe to the right.

The main space was quite spacious, with a king bed, a sofa, mini bar, and a somewhat work desk.

The bathroom was a simple set up but perfectly adequate. Toiletries were Rituals branded which were actually quite nice!

A platter of sweets was delivered by a staff later that evening – not sure it was an elite amenity but thanks!

Facilities – The Fitness Centre was a smallish set up of basic equipment which looked abit sad.

Food & Beverage – wanted to talk abit about the hotel’s retaurant located on the lobby level – The Bicicleta – as I thought it was actually a very nice spot to hole up in after the flight cancellation drama. This is also the place where I redeemed my welcome drink of a glass of wine

I had dinner here as well and had an excellent and keto friendly meal as they accommodated my request to exclude the fries. The staff was worried that it would be too little for a meal but hey I made do!

Service – rather low touch but the staff at the restaurant was friendly.

Check Out – quick and simple at 6am at the front desk.

In Summary,

Can’t be entirely sure if I would stay here again if I needed to be near the airport but this in itself was a vey decent stay.
