[Hotel Review] The Strings by Intercontinental Tokyo

Grabbed from official site

I’m usually not a IHG person but I had my Ambassador free weekend night to burn and after much researching, I realized that this spot makes for quite a good base to kickstart the leisure part of my trip. So might as well make full use of my IHG Diamond while it lasts?

[Hotel Review] The Prince Park Tower Tokyo

This was the company’s choice of accommodation for the business trip so that was that. So I was quite relieved to see that pics in most reviews showed decently modern rooms as well as the gorgeous views which I hope I would get. This property is under the IPrefer programme which I am a member but as far as I know, corporate bookings usually do not accord member benefits anyway.

[Hotel Review] Batam Marriott Habour Bay

It has taken me this long to try this property.

While I had my eyes on this spot pre-COVID, prices were hovering around SGD300+ which was too expensive for Batam. So COVID came and went (or still around) and the idea for a short family trip came up, I decided to spring for this as the prices had gone down and I would be able to utilize my Suite Night Awards (SNA) which otherwise would have expired end 2023.

[Flight Review] Starlux-ury: JX731 Taipei (TPE) -Singapore (SIN) Business (A350-900)

Grabbed from official site

Mustering as much energy as I could to peel myself away from the Galactic Lounge, I bounded off to my gate in anticipation of the highlight of my trip. This flight was also supposed to be the A330neo but the airline later decided to put the A350 on this route instead – yay to doors in business class!

[Hotel Review] Starlux-ury: Hilton Taipei Sinban

With the inaugural flight out of the way, it was time to make my way to my home for the next 3 days! This stay ended up with more hiccups than I anticipated though but I survived.

Starlux-ry:

  • JX732 SIN to TPE (Economy)
  • Hilton Taipei Sinban
  • GALATIC Lounge
  • JX731 TPE to SIN (Business)

Here I go! Getting the spider-man themed flight was a cute bonus, though I’m not particularly a fan of spidey himself. You’ll see plenty of the theme throughout this review.

[Hotel Review] The Ritz Carlton, Jakarta, Pacific Place

Grabbed from official site

This trip happened due to my friend’s mileage run which was the perfect excuse to have another holiday. Yay.

Knowing our sole intention is to chill and not really wanting to mess with the infamous Jakarta traffic, we then decided that this spot is the best option we have to allow us to simply chillax. After all, it’s not everyday you come across a Ritz where all guests get club access – time for us to find out if this is a good thing!

[Hotel Review] Capri by Fraser China Square

Grabbed from official site

This stay is so postponed that I am kind of glad that I am finally checking this off.

The story is that during COVID era, I found a great rate which was eligible for their Best Rate Guarantee (BRG) which was honored and all ready to go. Until they closed to be a Stay Home Notice (SHN) facility. Then they re-opened after some time but they closed The Den (their interpretation of an Executive Lounge) which was what I wanted to experience for my stay. So I opted to reschedule only after The Den is re-opened (and kudos to the property for accommodating this allowance). Now, I am ready to stay after 1.5years postponement!
