Decided to try out this 2-weeks old property against my brains telling me to stop trying hotels so new. But my obsession with new hotels was too strong and I bit the bullet to bring the family there for our quick hop over the causeway.
This was an impromptu booking made after we made the painful decision to cancel our Surabaya trip due to the recent riots. With the trip dates only 3 days away coupled with the start of the school holidays, everything was mad expensive – flight tickets to KL was over $400 per pax. UGH.
So… a family road trip to Melaka it became and congrats to us that this hotel had recently opened – a new life from what used to be Ramana Plaza Melaka.
This was our pick as base for our last 2nights before flying home from LHR. We didn’t want to pay crazy London City prices, needed on-site parking, as well as to be within walking distance of a tube station.
This was the most unique property of this trip and actually, of all my travels. Staying in a manor yay! It also was a bonus that this property joined the Tribute Portfolio family in 2024. The official pictures looked really nice and we were suitably excited to experience an English countryside stay.
This was the pick for my first visit to Scotland and my first AC experience! I was hesitant at first about staying in an AC but had 2x 35k FNA to burn for a 3-night stay and Marriott Glasgow was no longer accepting FNA at the time of booking so here goes.
This was a rather odd choice for a Bonvoy loyalist but I had already cleared my Titanium renewal, and there weren’t a lot of Accor choices in the city to utilize my Plat status. So this became an excuse to buy an IHG Ambassador membership as the Free Weekend Night priced out for my dates this trip.
My last IHG Diamond / Ambassador tenure was passable so I was hoping this time might be different.
I’ve decided to bundle this trip into a trip report after all – the trip which I randomly booked wayyy ahead due to a previous Amex offer on Cathay Pacific for $100 off any $500 spend. And this is how I’m going on this 3N fun hop for only $400+ on economy.
So while planning for the 2025 family trip, I thought exploring a new city will be fun. And of course, the RC there called out my name before I knew it heh.
This became one of my checklist after watching a video on this gorgeous property – I was completely smitten and started thinking when I’d get to live it up in this crazy luxurious spot. This was THE checklist of the year for me. Can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait.
I also have to disclaim that whatever I am going to review on is based on the fact that this is a Raffles, apparently one of the best hotels in Doha at the moment, and charging me SGD600+ per night. So everything was pegged to expectations from a property of this calibre.
