[Hotel Review] Pan Pacific Singapore – Panoramic King

I wanted to check off this property as this has finally re-opened after too many extensions, one of which led to the cancellation of my Stay&Feast package. Armed with the recently gifted D$100usd from GHA which had a 3-month expiry, I figured this was a good time to tick off one brand in my quest to maintain my GHA Titanium.

Address –7 Raffles Boulevard, Marina Square Singapore 039595. Website.

Contact – Tel: +65 63368111. Email: enquiry.ppsin@panpacific.com.

Location – Located in the heart of the Marina area with sheltered access to Marina Square, Millennia Walk, and Suntec City, this property is super convenient for shopping, eating, and getting around via the Promenade Station (CC4 / DT15) which is a quick 5-mins walk away through Millennia Walk.

Price – $213++ = $282nett booked under the Discovery Break For A Quick Escape. Stacked with the use of my D$, the cash outlay was a very decent $143 even though it was room-only. I was also interested to see what my Titanium will get me in terms of room upgrade. Not alot to be excited about but the package includes the following:

  • Complimentary accommodation for up to 2 children under 12 years based on existing bedding
  • 15% savings on Food and Beverage at hotel operated dining outlets
  • 20% savings on spa treatments at St. Gregory
  • Complimentary internet
  • Pan Pacific Cares” pack upon arrival

Pre-Arrival – I received an invite to upgrade my stay 4days prior but no other emails.

Check In – The lobby was empty when I hopped over from Conrad at 1pm on a weekday and was immediately attended to. I was informed of my double tier upgrade to the Panoramic Room and confirmed late check out of 4pm; the entire process was fairly quick as there was not much else to go through for a room-only booking.

For some reason, I was told I was entitled to 25% dining discount but I wasn’t intending to dine in the hotel anyway (maybe due to my Titanium status?). I enquired about adding on breakfast and was quoted a ‘special’ rate of $30++ per pax only available at the point of check in (which I declined). In case its useful, the keycard contains some operating info including changes if any.

Room – My Panoramic King (38SqM), 2426, was the same size as the Deluxe King but with better views. Being on 22nd floor and above also means I got to take the exterior bubble lift which offers super nice ascending/descending views of the neighborhood. Yays!

The space was quite enough even for 2pax, with a corridor leading into the main space containing the big and very firm king bed with double bedside tables equipped with charging points and lighting controls. Laid out beside the bed in one corner is a solo lounging chair with a coffee table.

The non-smart TV and a part of the mini bar is spread out in one long stretch on the opposite end of the bed, offering a generous amount of countertop space. The Nespresso machine provided here is the one for commercial pods, with 3 pods provided, and in separate compartments are some tea bags (TWG!), coffee cups etc here.

The WFHotel spot is a reasonable glass desk with a Herman Miller chair, with 2x powerpoints equipped on the wall. The layout means you get to WFHotel with a view too!

The hallway leading to the bathroom (and back to the entrance) hides your (empty) fridge, some wine glasses, and your wardrobe which is typical with slippers and bathrobes – both of which were a little thin for me.

The bathroom space is nicely fitted out with a single sink but plenty of countertop space, a huge bathtub, and separate toilet and shower space. Toiletries here are Balmain branded but in dispenser size except for the body lotion. Boo to not being able to ‘steal’ them :P.

The blinds can be controlled via a handy controller. Otherwise, everything you may need for the stay can be requested via a printed QR code which leads you to a chatbot (accessible here):

The view from the room is really nice too!

A surprise GHA Titanium Amenity was also delivered later in the afternoon along with a welcome note – the note says pineapple tarts but I got random sweets with 2 dragon fruits instead. But still nice!

Lastly, even though the room was spotless, there were signs of wear & tear particularly with the switches and blinds control but its expected from a hotel just out SHN. No matter as long as its clean!

Facilities – I also managed to pop by the pool and the fitness centre on level 4 to take quick looks. The pool area is actually quite nice with plenty of sunbeds and also a selection of sheltered cabanas with assigned numbers which seem to infer that they require bookings.

My keycard didn’t allow me access to the gym for some reason so I’m afraid I only have shots from outside the door – it looked fairly well equipped?

In one small section of the level 4 space are some fun stuff – wasn’t sure if they were opened or just being there for erm decorative purposes.

I also wanted to check out the Urban Jungle Village which is their new kids-centric programme for children staying in the hotel but was too tight on time. Oh wells.

Service – Nothing to complain about and a rather fuss free experience.

Random shots – paying homage to these 2 incredible shots at dusk taken from the elevator:

Check Out – Painlessly done at 4pm on a weekday with the front desk processing the D$ with no issues – in fact he proactively asked if I would like to offset my final bill.

In Summary,

a great stay to knock of my D$100 and I am so happy to get a spotless room! Thank you GHA for the subsidy – $115nett for a Pan Pacific room-only experience is not bad 🙂
