Time to fly J again on SQ!

A quick review this time as I was super tired and slept 50% of the way. And the time of the flight made it hard to take good pics so make do, opps!

SQ656 Singapore – Fukuoka (Business)

  • SIN 01:20 – FUK 08:205
  • Flight time: 6 hours
  • Aircraft: Boeing 787-10
  • Seat – 15A

Boarding

Boarding was on time and we found our seats quite quickly, with my seat being a window and the console closer to the aisle for more privacy.

Shortly after settling in, the crew came by to ask if I wanted to dine after take off or landing – I opted for after take off to maximise my rest time. A pre-departure drink was then offered and I picked my favorite bubbles of course.

Seat & Cabin

I’m now so familiar with these seats now that I subconsciously just skim my way through the photo taking I realized so here it is, in its brown / orange tones as always.

As always, the amenities were placed

Meals (Supper Service)

This flight offers the supper service which is the rescinded version all on one tray. And without satay. Boo. The Book The Cook selection was as follow:

In-flight Menu / Snacks / Amenties

Drinks and alcohol

I deliberated over having lobster again but thought the in-flight Japanese meal looked quite interesting and so that was it. After the seat belt sign was off, my tray table was set up rather quickly and the bento was served. At first glance, it looked decent but I soon realize I don’t prefer this kind of meal and although colorful, the tastes of the individual items didn’t really sit well with me for some reason. Pairing the meal with a delicious sake helped though.

I ended the meal with more sake and a decaf and hit the sack right after.

In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) – the usual KrisWorld IFE had many updated choices but I knocked out by watching the laughable and cringey Madame Web and didn’t finish it.

Service

Service on this flight felt very impersonal which was a disappointment and I also realized addressing business passengers by their last name is no longer a default service practice at least on my flight. Say what you may but that gave a more personalized touch to the whole business class experience, no?

Before I knew it, the cabin lights turned on and the crew prepared the cabin for landing.

Onwards to taking Fukuoka steps!
