I kind of knew the lounge situation in Fukuoka Airport is more serviceable than anything so had moderated my expectations before the day came around.

The family had to split up for our return legs with each of us catching different flights home so I had almost too much time at the airport expecting it to be bigger than expected. Guess not.

Location: Departure Level 3 (near Gate 55)

Hours: 24 hours (Business) / 0430 to 0100 (First)

The lounge is not hard to find as Fukuoka Airport is a short straight stretch of layout – there are obvious signs pointing to it, and you may walk faster once you spot the crazy queues at Starbucks and 7-11.

This lounge pretty much admits everyone and anyone and is understandably busy. At the time of my arrival, I was lucky enough to see a staff removing the signs not admitting Priority Pass passengers due to capacity – yay. So I think it really depends on the timing you arrive – but if not be prepared to wait.

Once inside, there is a reception area as well as a luggage / coat storage area.

The space is a simple layout of length offering various seating options across several sections, with the seats themselves looking like they need a refurb. No special area for making calls or work – just seats.

The F&B is very basic so don’t expect to get a nice meal here so don’t come here hungry. It’s a simple set up of breads, hot dishes like stir fried vegetables, and Japanese curry which was lukewarm so yucks. But food seems to run out quickly and refills took a while – I have some sad photos as proof.

Drinks on offer saw simple spirits and wines, with the self-pouring beer machines being the most interesting to me.

Lavatories were decently clean as expected from a Japanese Airport and that was all I recall.

In Summary,

still a more palatable option than sitting in the public areas and having to pay for a beer I guess. My flight was called for soon enough and the gate was 5mins away so off I went to take the next hop transit home.
