This final and last stop of my mattress run was intended to be the gap filler on my last day in bkk after I check out of Renaissance and before my late flight back to SG. My flight departs only at 9:10pm and I needed a place to rot / chill in style. So figured I might as well make full use of the pit stop.

And with an Executive Lounge, it makes perfect sense to be here til we needed to go.

Address – 11 Sukhumvit Soi 24, Khlong Ton, Bangkok, 10110. Website.

Contact  – bkksu.info@hilton.com. Tel: +66-2-6206666.

Price – THB1,885++ (THB2,218.65) = SGD96.62 for a day room (10am – 4pm) which is still fairly reasonable for a run.

Location – Located just beside sister property DoubleTree Sukumvit, the property enjoys a slightly better spot as the entrance / exit runs straight out to the road to Emporium with indoor access to BTS and Emquartier. So you get to skip the connecting backdoor walk from hotel to mall.

Check In – Arrived at 2pm and was offered to be checked in at the Lounge while afternoon tea was about to start. Staff at the Lounge seemed to be surprised at the day room booking but nonetheless was polite and all smiles. I was in my room in under 15mins.

Room – Twin Deluxe Room (37SqM) 1411 was spacious and spotless. Super comfy twin beds, a proper work desk,and TV. Complimentary water is served in glass bottles and you just refill using drinking glasses available in the room. Bathroom was big and offered plenty of space even iwth a bathtub. Nothing to complain about especially for a day stay.

Executive Lounge – Located on the 4th floor, the lounge is big and offers plenty of seatings. Could probably even fit in more seats if they wanted. Staff seemed polite but no warmth in their exchanges, almost cursory. Afternoon saw the usual coffee tea with cookies, cakes, finger sandwiches, scones, fruits. I was excited about the evening cocktails as we planned to have a quick bite before leaving for the airport, but I found the food offering during cocktails rather lazy.

Don’t get me wrong – the alcohol selection and otherwise were quite good – there were cheeses, salads, appetizers, and breads. But hot food selection was fast food style ie pizzas, foot long subs, french fries, chicken nuggets, sliders. I’m quite sure most were made in-house by the hotel’s team but it just seems not much thought has been put into it. Perhaps it was the theme of the day and other days are better?

Facilities – Restaurant Mondo located on the lobbty level seemed nice and had a quick peek at their pool and gym – rooftop pool and smallish gym. Suffiicent for a quick break if you must.

Service – Consistently polite but the staff at the Lounge was at best cursory / clinical in their exchanges. No warmth and gestures that made you feel like a valued Club guests. But no real damage here, just expectations perhaps.

Check Out – Painless and swiftly completed at the Lounge as I already pre-paid for the room.

In summary, this woudn’t be my top Hilton choice in BKK even as a Diamond but it served well for it’s purpose this trip at its price point. Would try Conrad BKK next time.

** So this marks the end of my Hilton Mattress Run! Yays! I am now invincible Diamond until March 2021 –  that’s almost 2 years of club access! Quite ironic given I’ve never been a Hilton person. I can’t believe I completed 8 stays (one of which was on behalf so not on the above schedule) within 2months spending under SGD700.

Will I do this again? Depends. Maybe Marriott Plat can be next?**
