This was a quick stop before I flew back to Singapore so review will also be rather cursory. Plus I had a crappy check in experience at the counter (more on this later in my flight review) so was in a bit of a mood.
I was completely prepared to visit the sterile Luftansa Senator Lounge again before I realized that this was printed on my boarding pass so I went to check this out.
- Location – Frankfurt International Airport, Terminal 1, Concourse B, near Gate 43
- Operating Hours – 0600 – 1500 daily.
The entrance is quite classy with wooden paneling and an obvious signage with the Maple Leaf motif on it – and you get an Air Canada toy plane display (+ a giant motif of their logo embossed into the wooden panelling) to marvel at upon stepping in. Thereafter, a lounge dragon checks your eligibility and off you go.
First impressions: much smaller than the Luftansa Lounge but much busier, with most of the seats occupied. Its all cushy soafa seats in different group size permutation, with particular highlight on a row of window seats offering great views of the tarmac. I managed to snag a solo seat to stone for about 1 hour and found it rather peaceful despite the crowd.
It was breakfast time at the time of my visit and a variety of breakfast nosh was on offer – cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, bacon, breads etc. Definitely perfunctory but I didn’t need anything fancy after hotel buffet.
For drinks you get wines, and beers on tap.
The toilets are also decent and adequate.
In Summary,
feels like a much better place to chill in versus the Luftansa options!
