This was another impulse booking for the 5th Anniversary offer and a repeat stay after only 2 weeks – I had intended to book first and decide later but since I’m still within the double elite night promo, ah wells. This stay also coincided with the Executive Lounge’s adjustment to assisted buffet instead of served as a set so I was happy to be able to check that out too.

Well, this was impromtu.

Such was the joy of knowing the fuss-free re-opening of land borders to Malaysia that we woke up at 5am to leave for a last-min trip to the land of gula melaka. The planned 1-nighter also made DoubleTree an impractical option (and too expensive) to explore the streets, so Ibis it was. I admit I was a little apprehensive about an older Ibis property especially when the state of maintenance is unknown but onwards we went!

[Hotel Review] Fairmont Singapore – Fairmont Gold Suite (South Tower)

I initially booked this using my Hotelux points but as fate would have it, Accor launched a superb sale with 30% off and I was seeing some really good rates for a Fairmont Gold room so I decided to stash my points for another stay another time.

Fairmont Singapore has also been the only Accor property in Singapore where I had no issues with room upgrades so far so hoping for a great experience again. I wouldnt repeat stuff about the facilities as those hasn’t changed since my last stay so refer to that post instead if you like okay?

I had a great stay last year in this property with Hotelux’s 3rd night free promotion and actually wasn’t thinking of repeating a stay but Bonvoy’s Double Elite Nights promotion + getting (what I think) is not bad a rate for Titanium running STILL beat my senses in the end. This staycay has been re-scheduled so many times til I’m not really sure where my rate came about or how long it’s been.
